A sample of CVS patients’ letter samples has been obtained from players who were on the team that contracted the coronavirus.

The samples, obtained by NHLPA executive director Donald Fehr, are part of a public health response to the outbreak.

Players with a history of receiving CVS-coated letters, which contain the virus, can use the samples to be tested at their doctor’s office.

The NHLPA is asking players to submit their letters before Oct. 31 to help make it easier for the team to collect samples for testing.

The letters were provided to the NHLPA by a team employee, who is a member of the union.

The sample collection process has been completed.

It is expected to take three to five weeks.
