The largest COVID vaccine ever developed in the United States has been launched.
The Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment said Monday it had announced a $2.5 billion plan to expand the coronavirus vaccine program.
More than a dozen states and the District of Columbia have issued COVID restrictions.
There have been nearly 10,000 confirmed cases, with nearly 3,000 deaths, and 1.7 million infections, the CDC said.
Colorado’s largest vaccine production facility in Fort Collins will be able to produce up to 100 million doses per day, and about 200 million doses a month.
The company will distribute the vaccine to a variety of health care facilities, including hospitals and clinics.
In the United Kingdom, Health Protection Minister Stephen Gethins said Monday the country has more than a million confirmed cases and more than 7,000 fatalities.
“We need to be vigilant.
It is critical that we do everything we can to reduce the spread of this coronaviral infection,” Gethin said.
