India’s government is introducing a covid-vaccine in a bid to prevent coronavirus spread in the country.
The state-run Bharat Sanchar Nigam (BSNL) has been working on the new vaccine for over a month, and is now aiming to make it available in the state by June.
The vaccine, called CVS-5, is a type of vaccine that targets the body’s own immune system, the government said.
The government is trying to improve the vaccine’s efficacy by reducing its dosage and increasing the doses of the vaccine given to children.
It is expected that more than 1.3 million Indians will get the vaccine.
According to BSNL, the vaccine will be available in several states, including Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka and Assam.
It will be made available in all hospitals, and at all healthcare centres in the states, the ministry said in a statement.
