New coronavirus cases in the United States have been down for the fourth straight day.

The new national tracker is tracking the nation’s daily number of reported cases of the virus, and its death toll, to show how many people are still living with the virus.

CDC Director Dr. Thomas Frieden says the virus’ death toll has fallen to more than 6,000, a number that is lower than the 7,000 people who died in the US in the first seven days of March, and a far lower number than the nearly 9,000 Americans who died from the virus in March 2016.

“It’s a significant number of people that have died,” Frieden said in a statement.

Since then, more than 2.5 million Americans have been vaccinated, and more than 1 million have been hospitalized.

But the numbers are far from enough to stop the spread of the coronaviruses that are causing the worst-ever rise in the rate of deaths, according to Dr. David Kupchan, chief medical officer of the CDC.

More: The CDC is tracking new coronaviral cases in more than 3,300 US cities and towns, including 1,300 in the West, where the virus is the most prevalent.

According to Frieden, that means the virus has killed more than 10,000 more people in the U.S. than the previous record set in May of this year, when 9,542 new cases were reported.

“We don’t know yet what the long-term toll will be, but the pace is increasing rapidly,” Fried, the director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, said at a news conference Thursday.

Kupchan says the CDC’s latest numbers will be used as the benchmark by which to measure the nation in the coming weeks.

But Dr. Mark Adler, a health economist with the University of California, San Francisco, who studies the spread and transmission of the pandemic, said it is hard to say with any degree of confidence if the new death toll will match the numbers the government reported last week.

It’s still too early to tell whether the new numbers are “slightly better” than what was reported in May, Adler said.

Frieden said the new deaths numbers represent the highest number of deaths reported since the first coronavids pandemic in 2009, when the virus hit the U, Australia, China, and the United Kingdom.

Dr. David Rosenfeld, who runs the CDC Vaccine Center, said the latest numbers are consistent with the data the agency received last week from the UBS Healthcare System, which reported that about 3.7 million Americans were in the process of receiving a coronavid vaccine, about a quarter of whom were still receiving it at the time of the first cases reported in the states.

Still, Rosenfeld said the data is not necessarily the definitive indicator of whether the virus will kill more people, because it doesn’t count deaths from respiratory infections and other complications, which the CDC considers the most important side effects of a vaccine.

“The more data we get, the more we get to the point where we can say, OK, this is not a vaccine-driven surge, but rather, this pandemic is a coronovirus pandemic,” Rosenfeld told ABC News.

On Thursday, the CDC reported that the UESP had recorded more than 7,600 new coronoviruses cases, down from 8,500 in April.

The number of confirmed cases has also dropped.

There have been more than 200 deaths reported in California and Texas since the start of the year, including two in the state of New Mexico.

But those are still far below the 5,000 reported daily, or daily death toll in the past two weeks, when coronavides were the number-one killer of people in New York City and Washington.

Meanwhile, the first week of March was the first time the state has reported an overall decrease in the number of coronavires reported in New Jersey, where at least one person has died.

New York City, which has the most coronavirin deaths per capita of any city in the country, is now seeing the highest daily death count in the nation, at more than 9,500, according a recent New York Times article.

New York Mayor Bill de Blasio has been trying to raise the city’s coronavirots to prevent further spread.

Some state and local officials have been urging residents to get vaccinated and to seek out care, but so far, many have been reluctant to do so.

Adler, the health economist, said that the CDC and others need to keep track of the death toll to keep an eye on how the virus spreads in the future.

I don’t think there is much that can be done, but I think the best thing to do is to keep trying
